The Democratic Party is calling for national prayers for the Ugandan parliament.
This follows Wednesday’s fracas the erupted in parliament that saw legislators flexing with security agents who had been called in to evict them from the chamber
Speaking to Kfm the Party’s president Nobert Mao has said having strangers access the chamber of parliament was most regrettable, noting that it defiled the sanctity of parliament, independence and prestige.
He also says the speaker did not play her role in defending parliament from the defilement, hence the need for prayers to cleanse it.
However during yesterday’s plenary session NRM law makers applauded the speaker for the manner she handled the situation accusing opposition legislators of causing the chaos.
They also thanked the speaker for what they termed as a bold decision to throw out opposition MPs over their alleged acts of indiscipline.
