The Director of Public Prosecutions(DPP) has lost interest and withdrawn the case against Anwali Baguma, the KCCA driver who knocked dead a two and a half year-old toddler at KCCA offices late last year.
In January this year, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) gave the deceased’s family Shs50 million as compensation.
The toddler’s mother Madinah Namutebi made an additional statement at police withdrawing her complaint against the suspect upon receiving the said money.
State prosecutor Immaculate Nyambaju has today presented a withdraw letter dated February 25th signed by the DPP.
Buganda Road Court Grade One Magistrate Joan Achiro has asked KCCA and the parents of the deceased child to settle the matter out of court
