The Electoral Commission has asked State owned media houses to avail enough airtime to all Presidential Candidates as stipulated in the constitution.
The call comes ahead of the Presidential Campaigns set to kick off on Monday next week with candidates expected to use the media and other channels of communication to solicit votes.
The commission’s Chairman Justice Simon Byabakama says dialogue is still ongoing with private media house owners to also allow presidential candidates conduct their campaigns through their platforms.
Justice Byabakama has however asked the candidates to strictly follow their harmonized campaign programs to avoid collusion.
Candidates have 60 days to conduct campaigns ahead of polls set for January 14th.
