She explained that they have resolved to beef up security in an Emergency meeting convened by the regional police commander, Mr Francis Chemusto to equip DPC’s, Intelligence Offices and Officers In-Charge stations.

“After getting information that armed thugs attacked our neighboring district. We can’t take this for granted”, said Ms Nandawula.

Police and other security operatives have been deployed and will keep peace and monitor any infiltration of the so-called thugs.

This follows an attack by armed thugs on a Central Police Station in the neighboring Kapchorwa  in Sebei.
Suspected thugs on Sunday morning attacked Kapchorwa Central Police station, killing one police officer, injuring three others before making off with three guns.
30 year old Akim Kaddu,  a police constable attached to the police station who was on night duty was killed in the fire exchange with the unknown assailants in what was said to be a systematically planned attack.
