Ethics and Integrity Minister Rev. Fr. Simon Lokodo has ordered the arrest of Dr. Stella Nyanzi saying her actions are against the law.

Early this morning, Dr. Nyanzi this morning staged a nude protest outside her offices at Makerere Institute of Social Research on grounds that she is being persecuted by the head of the Institute Prof. Mahmoud Mamdani.

Dr. Nyanzi who is a research fellow at the institute has been protesting against a recent notice written to her by Prof. Mamdani in which he denies her office space on grounds that she has persistently refused to participate in the PhD programme at the university in addition to other research programmes at the institute.

Speaking on KFM’s mid-morning show D-Hook on Monday morning, Lokodo said Dr. Nyanzi committed a crime by circulation her nude pictures on social media.

Lokodo says they will first establish her mental status before taking action.

Meanwhile, Nyanzi’s office has finally been opened by Prof. Edward Kirumira, the Principal College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
