The opposition FDC party has vowed to hold its planned rallies in Kitgum district where the incumbent President Museveni is expected.
According to the electoral commission campaign program, both Museveni and Amuriat are expected to campaign in Kitgum.
Amuriat says he is not to blame for the mishap arguing that the electoral commission should have harmonized the anomaly.
However, police have asked Amuriat not to dare step foot in Kitgum today for campaigns.
The police director operations Edward Ochom warns that if FDC insists, police will be left with no option but disperse the supporters
Ochom says the EC has informed them that Museveni booked the district first and that when FDC was invited for harmonisation, they did not show up.
Amuriat who set off from Agago to Kitgum this morning dramatically beat the heavy police deployment that had blocked him along the way.
According to the campaign program, NRMs Museveni is to campaign in Kitgum, FDCs Patrick Amuriat, Kitgum and Lamwo NUPs Robert Kyagulanyi Butaleja, Tororo and Busia, ANT’s Mugisha Muntu in Kalungu and Sembabule, Henry Tumukunde in Fort portal city, Joseph Kabuleta Moroto and Amudat.
