Former Attorney General Pater Nyombi has been pinned by parliament’s committee of State Enterprises and Statutory Authority for allegedly causing financial loss of over 1.5 billion shillings.

The loss is said to have been incurred when Nyombi failed to secure legal representation for the Uganda National Roads Authority as reflected in the 2014-2015 Auditor General’s Report.

The committee steered by its Vice Chairperson Anita Among the Bukedea district Woman MP has faulted Nyombi for authorizing the payment of Dot Services 1.5 billion in damages, which money could have been saved through a court process.

In his defense, Nyombi says that he advised UNRA to pay the money upon realising that any further delays would attract heavy interests.
