Atleast four People have died while more than 16 have sustained serious injuries in an accident that occurred along Kisoga-Nkokonjeru Road in Mukono district.

The survivors were rushed to Nkokonjeru Hospital where they are receiving treatment.

The accident occurred at Bumbajja trading Centre when the driver of a commuter taxi registration number UAR 511/V lost control and it rammed into a crowd of Bagishu Kadodi dancers who were heading to Nkokonjeru for a circumcision ritual.

This driver and a conductor of the ill-fated taxi are currently on the run.

According to Julius Nkangi an eye witness, residents went on rampage after the accident and set the taxi on fire.

The deceased have been identified as 15 year old Kakooza Wasswa, 35 year old Kizza, one Nalongo and another yet to be identified, all resaidents of Bumbajja and Kiyoola in Nakisunga Sub-county, Mukono district.
