The minister has been in the limelight for allegedly leading the push to scrap the age limit cap for presidential candidates in the constitution, which some say is essentially meant to pave way for President Museveni’s long stay in power.

While eulogising the late John Ssebaana Kizito at Parliament yesterday, the Opposition Chief Whip Ibrahim Semujju Nganda asked Otafiire and other members of Parliament to resist the temptation to lift age limits to avoid democratic setbacks in the country.

However, Otafiire says that Semujju and others with similar concerns must take a rest and let the citizens speak.
