While appearing before parliament’s committee of science and technology, Health Minister Dr. Ruth Aceng said even though malaria prevalence rate is down to 19% 42%, more still needs to be done to make Uganda a malaria free country.

She said these mosquitoes are being developed at the Uganda Virus Research Institute and are ready for use.

Aceng however adds that all this work will be put to waste if the passing of the National Biotechnology and Biosafety Bill 2012 is not expedited.
