Days after reopening of schools for candidate classes, the Uganda National Teachers Union has expressed doubt that the practice of teachers moving from one school to another to teach will be stopped.
Government recently stopped teachers from teaching in more than one school in an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
However, speaking to KFM, UNATU’s Secretary General Filbert Baguma says while this is illegal, government has no mechanism to monitor the teachers.
He also attributes this to the poor working conditions of many teachers.
Uganda has so far recorded 10,590 cases of Covid-19 with 97 deaths.
