Government is this academic year scheduled to give 1,600 study loans to Ugandan students who wish to pursue Higher Education in recognized Ugandan Higher Education Institutions, but are unable to support themselves.

In an interview with KFM, the Communication Manager of the Higher Education Students Financing Board (HESFB) Bob Nuwagira says the application exercise starts on Monday next week.

According to Nuwagira, the board will stop receiving applications from students at the end of November.

He says because of covid19 challenges, all applications will be done online but adds that due to internet problems, they have set up 16 centres across the country to help students.

The student’s study loans only covers undergraduate students to pursue diplomas, degrees and continuing students in final year.
