The Prime Minister of Uganda, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has told Parliament that the government will on Thursday next week present new proposals on the Mobile Money and Social media tax.
Briefing the House this afternoon, Rugunda said government has taken note of the public concerns raised and is now reviewing the taxes and measuring all implications on the budget.
Rugunda says on Thursday, members of parliament will debate and consult widely so that they can guide concerning the amendment of the excise duty bill.
Rugunda adds that government is committed to ensuring that the taxes favor the people and also balance the need to raise revenue.
