Health experts are saying that government’s move to phase out health centers was not well thought out.

The Acting Director General Health Services Prof Anthony Mbonye has expressed concern as the ministry of health reviews the Health Center 2’s and switching focus to health centre 3s.

He says the biggest problem is government coming up with policies which are not evidence based.

However the minister of state for finance in charge of planning David Bahati has justified the move, noting that it is being done to improve service delivery, calling for the public’s patience.

President Museveni recently expressed concern over the performance of health centre 2s saying they had failed to meet the desired target across the country.
