IGG withdraws charges against Gilbert Bukenya

The Inspector General of Government has withdrawn charges of abuse of office against former VP Gilbert Bukenya relating to CHOGM funds.

According to the notice sent to the registrar of the Anti-corruption court Fred Waninda, the IGG has lost interest in the abuse of office case.

Hearing of this case is set for 7th November before Anti-Corruption Court Judge Catherine Bamugemeire.rof. Bukenya faces charges relating to the misappropriation of over  9 billion Shillings in preparations for the 2007 Common Wealth Heads of Gov’t Meeting.
