The search committee appointed by the University Council led by Ms.Irene Ovonji on monday confirmed that four people had applied for the job at closure of the application deadline.

The committee however did not disclose the names of the four candidates to avoid prejudice, especially if one or more of them are knocked out before shortlisting.

However, KFM has established that the four candidates are Prof Baryamureeba, the current deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, Prof Edward Kirumira, the principal of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Makerere University Business School’s Principal Prof Wasswa Balunywa.

Prof Dumba confirmed that he is not coming back for the second term.
