Islands, just like border points pause a great challenge to the nationwide fight against COVID-19.
This concern is raised by the ministry of internal affairs following the illegal entry of a Tanzanian nationals through Lolwe islands into Uganda.
The ministry’s spokesperson Jacob Siminyu says the illegal entrant who was reported to the authorities was tracked and tested positive of COVID19.
According to Siminyu, the new guidelines state that any foreigner found positive of COVID19 must be repatriated to their country of origin.
He now calls for more security deployment at all island entry points of the country.
