The Deputy DPP Charles Ogwal says new charges will be related to crimes he allegedly committed during last week’s clashes in Kasese, which left more than 100 people dead.

The violence culminated in the Sunday attack by the military on the King’s residence which left atleast 46 royal guards dead and the palace in ruins.

The cultural leader was on Tuesday charged with murder at the Jinja Chief Magistrate’s Court and remanded to Kirinya Prison until December 13th when he returns to court for mention of his case.

Meanwhile, the Omusinga’s mother, Christine Nyinamukama has urged her son to seek forgiveness from president Museveni.

Nyinamukama who refers to the president as her brother, has also appealed to him to pardon her son whom she refers to as his nephew.

The 82 year old is a known mobiliser of the ruling NRM in Kasese.
