High Court Judge Elizabeth Kabanda set this afternoon to rule on whether Dr. Stella Nyanzi is subject to a mental checkup.

Earlier this month prosecution led by Jonathan Muwaganya asked Buganda road court to make an order sending Nyanzi for a medical checkup, to know her mental status, which she challenged.

Prosecution says they heard information that Dr. Nyanzi’s medical status is not stable and that she was once on mental treatment at Butabika Hospital.

The judge is also to rule on an application filed by Dr.Nyanzi seeking a review on the conduct of Buganda Road Court chief magistrate James Eryemye to remand her to Luzira prison without entertaining her bail application.

In this session Justice Kabanda blocked all journalists from covering the proceedings.
