The President says that granting bail to suspects on capital offences like murder, rape and treason is provocative because it interferes with security’s investigations.

In his Friday address, he revealed that he will engage the Attorney General over the same.

The Justice spoke out in an NTV interview in the morning, where he said the law presumes everyone innocent until proven guilty.

Kanyeihamba said for the President to successfully remove the right to bail, Uganda has to first withdraw from all international treaties that guarantee bail globally.
