Rubaga South MP Paul Kato Lubwama has asked High Court Judge Margaret Oumo Oguli to allow him file an application before court of appeal challenging her decision that allowed a voter to challenge his election.

This is after the same Judge granted permission to Habib Buwembo, a Rubaga South Voter to file an election petition against Kato Lubwama challenging his academic qualifications in not less than 30 days.

Lubwama being dissatisfied with the decision filed an application asking the Judge to allow him appeal.

The judge has set 5th January 2017 to rule on whether or not to grant Kato Lubwama to appeal against the decision.

Oguli ruled that there is unchallenged evidence on court records showing that Kato Lubwama lied to the Electoral Commission that he possessed a valid O level certificate from Old Kampala SSS yet the same is not registered by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau.

Habib Buwembo says he has since learnt that Kato Lubwama scored aggregate 7 which could not be relied on to sit mature age entry exams to be admitted for a diploma in Music Dance and Drama at Makerere University.
