KCCA has received a grant worth Shs89 billion to signalize 30 more junctions in the city and construction of a traffic control center at KCCA headquarters.
According to the authority’s director Eng. Andrew Kitaka, the project will commence in April this year and will take 2 years to be completed.
He added that, within 2 years from now, about 80 junctions, traffic lights, and a traffic control center will have been established to enable traffic to move in a controlled manner.
Kitaka added that KCCA has plans to rehabilitate and widen most of the roads in Kampala to accommodate more cars and reduce traffic.
