Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has ordered for speedy investigations into the murder of IEBC ICT Manager Chris Msando and a female companion Carol Ngumbu.

President Kenyatta has described Msando as a man who selflessly served his country.

He has however urged Kenyans to stop speculation into the deaths and let investigators perform their duties.

Kenyan police earlier questioned a number of people including the top leadership of the country’s electoral commission, waiters at a city bar and relatives of murdered elections technology manager.

According to Daily Nation news paper, Msando’s widow was also questioned by detectives who are seeking to piece together his last moments and find his killers.

Mr Msando was systems development manager at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and played a key role in the installation and management of digital technology to be used in voting and tallying.

He was killed in the early hours of Saturday and his naked body, with injuries, was discovered in a thicket in Kikuyu.

The body was later taken to Nairobi’s City Mortuary and was not identified until Monday.

On Tuesday, the Kenyan government said it will accept an offer of help, once it is formally made, from the governments of the US and UK to have their investigators join the Kenyan team.
