The Jinja Magistrates Court has further remanded Rwenzururu King Charles Wesley Mumbere and his royal guards to prison until 20th, February 2017.

This is after the resident State Attorney Grace Ntege informed presiding chief magistrate Francis Kaggwa that police inquiries into Mumbere’s two case files are still-ongoing.

Ntege also produced 8 more suspects to face similar charges of terrorism, treason, murder, robbery and malicious damage to property that were allegedly committed between March and November 2015 in which over 100 lives were lost in Kasese district.

This brings the number of suspects to 169.

Meanwhile defence lawyers have demanded for an independent medical examination to ascertain the correct age of some suspects whom they claim  are below 18 years and cannot be kept in the same cells with other inmates.
