Kyambadde wants Uganda Investment Authority transferred to her docket.

The minister of trade, industry and cooperative Amelia Kyambadde wants the Uganda Investment Authority be transferred from the ministry of finance to her docket.

This, she says will foster proper monitoring of investment licenses and compliance levels of foreign traders in the country.

Kyambadde has been appearing before parliament’s committee on trade and industry, praised over by the deputy chairperson  Alex Ruhunda of Fort Portal Municipality to explain the presence of foreign traders mainly Chinese who operate without trade licenses.

Kyambadde has told the committee that it would be difficulty  for her ministry to interfere in the duties which are entirely under ministry of Finance and asked members to instead transfer the  Uganda investment Authority to the ministry of trade.
