The leader of Opposition In parliament Matthias Mpuuga, has appealed to the Muslim Community to use Eid celebrations to pray for their motherland.

In a statement released, Mpuuga said the celebrations have come in a critical period when the country is experiencing uncontrollable skyrocketing prices of goods, human rights violations, insecurity and poverty.

Mpuuga also noted that some Muslim families are not in position to celebrate Eid without their loved ones who were imprisoned while others killed over political differences.

Meanwhile he said that the celebrations have come at a time when Karamoja sub region is full of insecurity as many people have died in hands of cattle rustlers, farmers are in fear over the recent coffee agreement between the government of Uganda and an Italian Investor among other challenges the country is passing through.

He is however optimistic that through prayers God will save this nation.
