The army has denied reports that the M23 leader has surrendered.

The UPDF spokesperson Lt Col Paddy Ankunda has told KFM that Bertrand Bisiima is in the Uganda to take part in the ongoing peace talks at Munyonyo.

Meanwhile the UPDF Second Division spokesman Captain Ronald Kakurungu says two militants belonging to the M23 rebel group have surrendered to the UPDF in Western Uganda.

He says the two who are at the rank of private surrendered their guns to military authorities.

He has identified the duo as George Ntaganda and one Hakizimana.

Relatedly, over 2,000 Congolese refugees have crossed into Uganda through the Bunagana border post since yesterday.

The figures are expected to go up.
