Former presidential candidate Elton Joseph Mabirizi has welcomed a move by Mukono municipality Mp Bety Nambooze to soliciting signatures to recall parliament.

This comes at a time the opposition has secured a team of lawyers from among the legislators to back up the petition to recall parliament from recess.

The petition which has now been broadened to address perceived political questions in the country also seeks to review the Police Act to check powers of the force in regard to preventive arrests.
Nambooze says the police have been exploiting sections of the law to harass former FDC Presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye, which must be addressed.

Speaking to Kfm Mabirizi has however expressed skepticism that the move will succeed given the lack of numerical strength of the opposition.
