Institutions with finalists undertaking health-related courses have spoken out about their readiness to receive students.
President Museveni has given a green light to only finalists offering health-related courses to resume classes and complete their courses to avoid creation of human resource gaps that might happen in the sector.
The Vice Chancellor of Makerere University, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, says they have been working on the guidelines since the outbreak of Covid-19 in Uganda, in March, to ensure their readiness when government reopens the institutions.
He says students who had not completed paying for their second semester tuition will be required to complete payment before being allowed to sit for exams, however he added that payments can be made in instalments.
The Vice Chancellor of Kampala International University Prof Muhammed Mphezamihigo, says they have also put in place the required standard operating procedures at their Bushenyi campus and are set to receive the students.
