This follows business at Mulago hospital getting paralyzed after closure of the university which saw medical students leave creating a shortage of medical personnel at the hospital
Addressing journalist at Makerere guest house, the chairperson of Makerere University Academic Staff Association Dr Muhammad Kiguddu said they did not stop teaching the medical students because of the facility’s sensitivity.
He says government should be blamed for the current shortage of medical personnel at Mulago and not MUASA because their staff at the medical school was not part of the industrial action and were still offering their services to the students.
Meanwhile he says they are yet to receive any communication from the University administration, however noting that they are ready for discussion provided their arrears are paid to them.
