Residents of Namato West Village, Namutumba Sub-county in Namutumba District on Wednesday woke up to the beheaded body of a resident lying in a pool of blood in his compound.
The Village Chairperson LC1 Chairperson, Mr Charles Tete Musoke, identified the deceased as 38-year-old Stephen Balyogera.
Mr Musoke described the crime as “the first of its kind in the village”, adding that they are yet to establish the motive for his murder, but unverified reports, suggest the deceased was having an affair with someone’s wife.
Mr John Kiduma, a neighbour, said the deceased remained ‘adamant’ even after he allegedly received several warnings to stop seeing someone’s wife.
“I personally advised him to end his relationship with someone’s wife but he did not listen. If he had listened, this would not have happened,” Mr Kiduma noted.
The Busoga East Police Spokesperson, Mr James Mubi, said police have commenced investigations into the death, while the body has been taken to Nsinze health centre IV for an autopsy.
