The state minister of state for higher education John Muyingo has asked parents of senior four candidates who begin their exams this Friday to consider the option for technical education if they are to better compete on the job market.

Speaking during the release of the technical and business exam results this morning, Muyingo said Senior 4 and primary 7 candidates should not take technical and vocational studies as an alternative to higher education since majority of university graduates are still looking of jobs.

He adds that the future of big economies like Japan and USA, is shaped by business so if Uganda is to quickly acquire middle income status, more parents should encourage their children to acquire technical and business skills.
