The Minister of State for Primary Education Rosemary Seninde has asked members of parliament to take lead in sensitizing their voters about sanitary needs for girls especially those from disadvantaged communities.
Seninde’s call follows complaints from various legislators about government’s delay to implement its pledge on provision of free sanitary wear to girls as stated in the NRM manifesto.
Seninde has told parliament that in as much as president Museveni pledged to support the girls; it is a primary responsibility for parents to cater for their children and not the State.
