The trial of the three ministers accused of causing financial loss ahead of the
Common Wealth Heads of Government Meeting in 2007 resumes this morning for submissions.
This after prosecution presented 11 witnesses all of whom cleared the ministers of
any wrong doing.
Prosecution led by Sydney Asubo informed court that it has closed its case after all the witnesses
The ministers accused of conspiring to cause the state a 14bn sh loss in 2005 are
Sam Kutesa, John Nasasira and Mwesigwa Rukutana.
The witnesses included a High Court Judge in charge the family division Justice
Billy Kainamura, the then permanent secretary ministry of foreign affairs
Ambassador Julius Onen, Chief Engineer in ministry of works Samson Bagonza,
head of public service John Mitala.
Others are Chris Kasami, the Secretary to the treasury, Ambassador James Mugume the
Permanent Secretary foreign affairs and Julius Karendi a senior inspectorate
officer in the IGG’s office.
The case is before Justice Paul Mugamba the head of Anti- corruption court.
