The ministry of trade and cooperatives has boosted of making progress ever since the BUBU policy was launched in March this year revealing that over 756 stockists especially in supermarkets where more shelf space has been given to Ugandan products thus accounting for 40%.
Speaking to the media yesterday, the trades Minister Amelia Kyambadde said the ministry has also been able to profile producers and service in the BUBU priority sectors like steel, Cement, Textile, Pharmaceuticals and Accountancy firms.
Kymabadde meanwhile revealed that the ministry has adopted Zimba Uganda as the BUBU brand name and that a logo will be developed to be used on all Ugandan products.
She says the Zimba Uganda brand name will be launched in October this year by the ministry.
