The ministry of gender labor and social development has unveiled guidelines to prevent and respond to Gender based violence.
This follows reports that domestic violence cases have increased during the COVID-19 lock down.
Addressing the media today, the Minister of state for gender and cultural affairs Peace Mutuuzo called on all members of the public to report any case of gender base violence to the nearest authorities.
The minister says it’s everyone’s responsibility to break the silence and report cases of gender based violence to the nearest authorities.
She further says community members should desist from being accomplices to this vice but ensure perpetrators are brought to book.
