The High Court has granted him a cash bail of 10m

His four  sureties including East African Legislative Assembly MP Fred Mukasa Mbidde have each signed bonds worth Shs 50m each not cash.

Kipoi has been ordered to deposit passport before the deputy registrar of the court’s criminal division Elizabeth Kabanda.

Also deposited is the land title of his home located on plot 378, Katale Wakiso district.

He is also advised not to travel out of the country without informing court and must report twice a month to the Commandant of the Special Investigations Unit in Kireka.

Kipoi and seven others are charged with treason.

He had sought bail on grounds that it is his constitutional right, and that he is suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes which cannot be treated in prison.

He appeared before high court judge Lameck Mukasa.
