President Yoweri Museveni’s nationwide radio campaign on land amendment has been criticized as one that will haunt him or his family members once he leaves power.
According to the Kabale -Kitanga Parish Priest Fr.Geatano Batanyenda, the campaign is a waste of government resources and that the line ministry of lands or a Resident District Commissioner would have been in a better position to explain the matter to the people.
Fr.Batanyenda adds that the president’s act is a manifestation that he has lost confidence in the existing institutions including the parliamentary committee that was instituted to scrutinize the bill.
Meanwhile the Kabale Resident District Commissioner Darius Nandinda has lashed out at the religious leader saying he has no moral authority to criticize the president’s initiative which seeks to explain to the people the merits of the sensitive land amendment bill.
