The chief of defense forces has implored UPDF retired solders to continue protecting the security of the country even when not in Uniform.

Gen David Muhoozi made the call at an event where 460 officers and militants retired from active service held at the general headquarters Bombo.

Maj. Gen Muhoozi who was represented by the commander land forces Gen Peter Elwelu said the retiring officers should continue being the eyes and ears of the army in their respective communities.

He also urged the soldiers to prepare for their families and themselves and to plan for their finances carefully.

The function was attended by chief of pensions and gratuity Brig Netland Bitumbika, Deputy Chief of personnel and Administration Brig Sam Kakuru, directors and senior officers.
