Parliament urged to halt approval of new EC

The government should halt the process of constituting the new electoral commission.

The call comes from FDC deputy president for Eastern region Alice Alaso who says the opposition and Civil Society bodies have previously demanded for electoral reforms to provide for an independent body to appoint the members.

However Alaso says the process should be more participatory and inclusive hence the need to halt what has been started.
