Police have arrested some students of Makerere University for attempting to cause chaos in the city center.

Students stormed city center demonstrating over the closure of the university.

The Students putting on their red gowns were moving down town singing, shouting and with placards reading “We want Makerere University open, closing Makerere is murdering academics of Africa”

Police swung in action arresting four of them who have been taken to cps while others escaped.

Among the arrested include Kato paul , Ainebyona Ronald, and mugabi Edmond.

Spokesperson of Kampala metropolitan police Kayima Emilian says the fourth person was not a student but a hair dresser who had joined in the chanting.

He says while the students during interrogation denied demonstrating claiming they were only going back to their homes with their property Kayima says more investigations are to be conducted.
