Under police regulations only officers under the force’s Public Relations Department are allowed to speak to the media with exception of the Police Chief and Directors.

Speaking to media this morning, the police spokesperson Asan Kasingye said currently all officers are giving media interviews contrary to police standards.

He said that starting today, any officer who will grant and interview to the media without authorization from the public relations department risks facing disciplinary action.
