The police spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan region Ibin Senkumbi says they are hunting for the owners of the said vehicles for alleged involvement in the hoot campaign.

The campaign launched by the opposition Activists for Change pressure group on Monday this week involves hooting and banging of tables and empty tins at the strike of the hour of 5pm every day.

This is part of their civil defiance campaign to show dissatisfaction with government over the high cost of living.

The police have however warned against the same, saying it is illegal and anyone who breaks the law shall be arrested and prosecuted.

Senkumbi now says the owners of the identified vehicles shall be arrested and charged with breaking the law on noise pollution and obstruction of traffic among other offences.
