The Officer in Charge of Molo police post in Tororo District has collapsed and died after he allegedly shot one person in a bar brawl.

Siraj Tibata died this morning at Aqua’s drinking joint situated in Magotes trading centre along Tororo- Mbale road.

According to a one John Opio, an eyewitness, the police officer collapsed and died on realizing he had accidentally shot one of the residents in an attempt the contain the violence that had broken out at the bar.

The Molo sub county LC3 Chairperson, John Emiriat has identified the injured as Dominic Omaset, who is currently admitted at Tororo hospital for treatment.

The District Police Commander, John Rutagira Musimenta has confirmed the incident saying investigations are on to establish the cause of death.
