Police has asked the public to embrace and support them in the national CCTV project.

Police is in the lead to install 5552 CCTV cameras, across the country in towns and highways to fight crime.

Currently police with other government agencies, UCC, NIRA, NITA, ministry of works among others have covered 20 km installing fibers.

The police spokesperson Emilian Kayima has cautioned against vandalizing cameras and cables.

The project will be completed in July 2019, with Kampala taking a lion share of 3233 cameras.
