A day after former, Premier Amama Mbabazi said nothing would stop his planned consultative meetings, the police have hit back, vowing to block him.

Mbabazi is set to roll out a series of consultative meetings in different parts of the country starting this Thursday in Mbale town to harmonize the sticking issues with his party.

Yesterday, Mbabazi confirmed that his meetings will proceed as scheduled because there is no law that bars his actions and instead asked the police to respect the law and provide security.

However the police spokesperson Fred Enanga, says all necessary deployment has been done to maintain peace in the area.

He explained that that unless the electoral commission and NRM writes to police okaying these meetings, they will not go on.
