The inspector General of police has warned that police and other security agencies will arrest any presidential aspirant who will mobilises crowds including boda bodas for a procession.
The electoral commission has since banned processions and public/mass rallies as a measure to curb the spread of covid19.
The police director of operations, Edward Ochom, say the IGP has instructed security agencies to respond proportionately, in the face of violent crime, which may include the use of teargas to disperse violent groups and arrest the culprits for prosecution.
Ochom meanwhile assures all the Presidential Aspirants that their safety and security is guaranteed.
Incumbent President Museveni from the National Resistance Movement party is scheduled to be nominated today the 2nd of November at Kyambogo cricket ground.
