The Joint Security Task Force has re-echoed a warning to those planning Boda Boda riots across the country that the law will take its course against any illegality.
Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson says over the weekend they received intelligence about unscrupulous people who want to cause mayhem in the Kampala Metropolitan Area and urban areas in districts of Mbarara, Jinja, Kasese, and Mityana among others.
According to Enanga, the planned riots are reportedly aimed at stampeding government to prematurely allow Boda Boda operators to resume normal operations, despite systematic guidelines to stem the spread of coronavirus.
He says they are on stand by to quell any such incidents.
Yesterday the Joint leadership of the security force resolved to forward concerns from Boda Boda motorcyclists to the Anti Covid-19 National Task Force after a meeting with some of their leaders.
