The electoral commission will today nominate the last batch of presidential aspirants seeking to run for presidency in the 2021 polls.
According to the guidelines, every aspirant is supposed to be accompanied by 9 people to the nomination venue.
The first day of the exercise saw three of the five booked aspirants nominated. They are NRM’s Yoweri Museveni, ANT’s Mugisha Muntu and Lt Gen Henry Tumukunde.
Independents John Katumba and Nancy Kalembe whose nomination was stopped due to failure to pay the Shs20m nomination fee are expected to return today.
The aspirants already booked for nomination include; NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine at 10am, FDCs Patrick Amuriat at 12pm, independents; Fred Mwesigye at 2pm, Jospeh kabuleta at 3pm, and Willy Mayambala.
Part of Kampala- Jinja highway remains closed even today for motorists.
Traffic flow along routes leading to and from Kyambogo University will be diverted at Spear Motors, Banda trading centre, Kireka trading centre, Kigobe road at the National Council for Higher Education and at Jokas hotel in Bweyogerere.
