This follows an incidence where a family of 12 from Kisegu Village, Kikonda parish in Kagadi district slaughtered and ate a pig that had died from an unknown illness.

Three people have died and the remaining nine have been subjected to isolation at Kagadi hospital as they monitor and review their cases.

The Ministry of Health says, laboratory results from the Uganda Virus institute for the obtained blood specimen of the admitted patients are negative for Ebola, Congo Crimean Hemorrhagic fever, rift valley fever and Sosuga viruses.

The Ministry has also called upon the public to report suspected cases to the nearest health facility as efforts to contain the outbreak continue.

The strange disease presents symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, headache, general body weakness and vomiting.
